ABOUT.

Sawyer Z. Eirikson

Age: 23

HomeTown: Okotoks, Alberta

“Sawyer Eirikson, a second-generation professional cowboy from Okotoks, Alberta, Canada, has been immersed in the world of rodeo from a young age. Growing up under the tutelage of his father, three-time Canadian All-Around Cowboy Tom Eirikson, Sawyer honed his skills on a variety of horses, from Welsh crosses to elite working and roping horses, and eventually to bucking horses.

Initially excelling in team roping and calf roping, Sawyer’s passion for saddle bronc riding emerged during his senior year in high school. Since then, he has been committed to pursuing his lifelong dream of becoming a world champion saddle bronc rider. Now in his second year of professional rodeo in both Canada and the United States, Sawyer’s talent and hard work have garnered recognition and success.

From winning titles in the U.S. Team Roping Championships as a child to capturing first place in the Maple Leaf Circuit Finals and placing in the Resistol Rookie Roundup, Sawyer’s accomplishments are numerous and varied. His relentless dedication to physical training and growth as a cowboy continues to propel his promising career forward, positioning him as a rising star in the world of professional rodeo.”

  • Growing up an Eirikson

“EIrikson, a repeatable last name that comes with great privilege and responsibility’...”

Sawyer said as he explains the boot’s he strives to fulfill as son of Tom Eirikson and younger brother of Wyatt.

“ Growing up in a family deeply rooted in the world of cowboys, I had the privilege of being surrounded by profound role models, such as my father and my brother. Observing their dedication and passion for horsemanship and rodeo instilled in me a strong understanding of what it truly means to be a cowboy and helped shape my love for this way of life.”

“Dad was a 4 time all around Champion, 3 time Bill Linderman Award Winner in addition to the many other great achievements in his Career. Wealthy in knowledge and commitment to the craft, Dad has been instrumental in shaping my own horsemanship skills, teaching me the value of hard work, perseverance, and a genuine love for horses. “

“Is an all-around cowboy in the true sense of the word.”

- Canadian Pro Rodeo Hall Of Fame

“Alongside my father, my brother Wyatt served as a constant source of inspiration and motivation. His immense talent and skill made our home practice sessions both enjoyable and competitive, allowing me to constantly improve and strive for greatness. Since Wyatt is my older brother he was always far more advanced than me, and of course being the younger brother I not only idolized, and respected him, but that was always accompanied by the innate nature of brotherly competition… something I will always be grateful for. Having such strong role models to look up to enabled me to appreciate the long working hours and dedication required to be a cowboy, as well as the immense satisfaction that comes with pursuing a passion. ”

“As a second-generation cowboy, I take great pride and privilege in hearing our family name announced at rodeo events, knowing that it represents a legacy of hard work, talent, and unwavering commitment to the world of horsemanship and rodeo. This recognition is a constant reminder to a legacy greater than me. I begin each day striving to uphold the legacy in the name, with high standards my family has worked tirelessly to establish and maintain; I proudly and gratefully maintain the legacy in the name with everything I do.”

  • Development Plan

“As I continue to establish my presence in the world of professional rodeo, I am proud to have achieved a reputable standing in the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association (CPRA), while maintaining a top 50 ranking in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) since November. While there have been challenges and growing pains along the way, these experiences have only fuelled my dedication to becoming a consistent contender in the sport.”

“My unwavering commitment to physical training, both on the road and between rodeos, demonstrates my dedication to personal growth and success. This devotion has been critical in overcoming the inherent obstacles that come with being a bronc rider and has prepared me to face future challenges with resilience and determination.”

Recognizing the importance of fostering strong connections with fans and sponsors, I have made a concerted effort in branding, media and community presence. This increased attention and commitment to my community and those I compete in will not only benefit my current sponsors, but future partnerships, ultimately supporting my long-term success in the sport.”

“As a devoted professional rodeo athlete, I am confident that my passion and dedication will translate into continued growth and recognition within the industry. Having already navigated the learning curve of the pro level last year, I am eager to channel my experience into executing each ride with precision and finesse, solidifying my position as a top competitor in the world of rodeo.”

PLAN OF EXECUTION Statment

      • this year is going to be different, Said Erickson. as a young gun it is easy to get caught up in the social life that accomanies us rodeo cowboys living on the road; but that has never been my scene anyways. Im at the point in my career where I am of an equal standing to those who I have analyzed from a far in my amateur years, I plan to make as many rodeos and ride as many horses as a cowboy can this season and I am determined to make it happen. It is always nice to head home in the winter to catch up with dad and lend a hand, But I am never home for long before I am itching to hit the road again. I have been traning harder than Ever before, and I amlooking forward for what’s to come this season”
